Our History

FSM Capital Management is the product of a merger between two long, proud traditions of catering to the needs of financially successful individuals and their families. Our two senior principals, Terrence Fergus and David Lightner, each spent many years working in and learning from those respective environments. Mr. Fergus spent much of his career as a partner with the international accounting firm of KPMG LLP, where he served in a number of senior leadership positions. Mr. Lightner, meanwhile, spent many years with MAI, the financial management division of IMG, where he was instrumental in building a global practice catering to the financial needs of professional golfers. In 2007, Mr. Fergus and Mr. Lightner joined forces, along with a pair of additional partners—Tim Carneval and Thomas Bertsch—to form FSM Capital Management.
